FinEdge Labs is building accessible infrastructure for financial segment data. We extract, validate, and serve operating segment and geographic revenue breakdowns from SEC filings — data that has historically been locked behind expensive terminal subscriptions.
The Problem
Companies report detailed segment financials in their 10-K filings — but extracting that data at scale requires parsing thousands of pages of XBRL and HTML. Institutional data providers charge tens of thousands of dollars per year for this. Independent researchers, students, and small funds simply go without.
Our Approach
We use a three-way verification system: XBRL structured data, Claude AI blind extraction from filing HTML, and SEC API consolidated totals. All three must agree — or we flag the discrepancy for manual review. The result is a gold-verified dataset with 100% validation across all 205 companies.
